«Ich vermute bei Dub verhält es sich in der Schweiz sehr ähnlich wie bei Dub Techno. Es gibt einige Leute, die sich stark mit der Musik identifizieren können. Trotz diesem Engagement wird Dub eine Nische bleiben. Das finde ich aber auch gut so, denn eine Kommerzialisierung macht in meinen Augen die Musik kaputt. Das habe ich schon bei vielen Richtungen erlebt und hoffe, dass es mit Dub und Dub Techno nicht soweit kommt. Das andere Extrem wäre der Untergang des Sounds, als Folge einer Abflachung von Produktionen und Veröffentlichung, sowie der Wegfall von Innovationen in Dub-Musik. Allerdings hat Dub ja schon viele Jahre auf dem Buckel und ich bin guter Dinge, dass es so bleibt wie es ist.»

«In der Schweiz gibt es einige Produzenten und DJs, die sich mit Dub beschäftigen. Ich denke, dass in Genf wohl die grösste und konstanteste Dub Szene zuhause ist. OBF sind von Genf und leisten seit Jahren gute und kontinuierliche Arbeit. Das Tengu Colltective aus St. Gallen mischt soviel ich weiss auch gut mit. In Biel, wo ich selbst lange mitgeholfen habe Dub-Nächte zu organisieren, gibt es immernoch das Tribute Soundsystem und Kabra, auch junge Organisatoren machen ab und Dub Partys, wo Zenit teilweise auflegt. Kabra macht auch selbst immernoch straighte Dub Musik.»

« Es gibt in der Schweiz viele Leute die sich mit Dub und Dub-verwandter Musik auseinandersetzen. Immer wieder lerne ich neue Leute kennen, die ziemlich vorlegen oder den Gestandenen in nichts nahestehen. Die Szene für Bass, Rhythm & dubwised electronic music ist somit wahnsinnig vielseitig und sehr aktiv – das Verständnis für tiefe Frequenzen ist definitiv vorhanden. Dank meinem Studiopartner Marius Neukom aka new.com (dubexmachina, bold, comfortnoise), der mich immer auf dem neuesten Stand hält, habe ich einen guten Einblick in das nationale und internationale Bass-Musik-Geschehen.
Die Roots Szene in Zürich ist sehr aktiv im Exil, Stall 6 oder Roten Fabrik. Die Romands haben immer wieder viel Erfolg mit Ihren Produktionen in Frankreich und auf meiner To-Do Liste in nächster Zeit ist jedenfalls ein Event mit dem Tengu Soundsystem aus St. Gallen. Anscheinend ist dies zur Zeit eines der besten und authentischsten Bass-Soundsystemen der Schweiz.»

«Ich denke momentan ist die Schweizer Szene der elektronische Tanzmusik auf guten Weg, es gibt viele junge Leute die fantastisches machen. Neue Formate wie der Club d'Essai in Bern bieten Platz für Austausch und bringen mehr Zusammenhalt in der Szene. Grundsätzlich haben wir für die Grösse des Landes eine unglaublich hohe Dichte an Qualität. Mangelndes Interesse in der breiteren Masse stehen dem jedoch etwas entgegen.»

«Für die Entwicklung der Szene für elektronische Musik sind wir aus meiner Sicht in einer offenen und daher eher privilegierten Situation. Denn ich blicke auf Zeiten zurück, in denen es ein Gedränge gab und in einzelnen Fällen sogar Neid und Destruktivität in sehr unerquicklichen Szenen zum Vorschein kamen. Weil es im Moment aber kaum viel an Prestige oder gar Geld zu holen gibt, sind vor allem jene aktiv, die primär Spass an der Musik haben. Die Szene entwickelt sich von alleine, weil es viele neugierige, vernetzte, kooperationsfreudige und auch geschichtsbewusste Produzenten, DJs, Promoter, Klub-Betreiber und natürlich auch Klub-Besucher und Musik-Konsumenten gibt, die sich auch in unterschiedlichen Subkulturen bewegen können. Die Richtung brauche ich nicht gar nicht vorauszusehen, diesbezüglich lasse ich mich nämlich gerne überraschen. Jedenfalls freue ich mich über eine ganze Reihe von ausgesprochen spannenden und vielseitigen Projekten, in die ich zurzeit involviert bin: Keep your ears and eyes open!»

Es passiert im Moment so viel Interessantes in der elektronischen Musik, insbesondere im Feld der Clubmusik oder in Form von daraus ausschlagenden Fluchtlinien, das man jedoch nur schwierig in Worte fassen kann. Eine Sprache zu finden, die diese Phänomene fassen kann und sich dann gemeinsam darüber zu unterhalten - das wäre ein tolles Projekt.»
